Game Room Retro Sports Mural

In this retro-looking sports mural, I created a monochromatic collage composition using metallics and earth tones. The wall measured 9’x 21’ and required a carefully planned balance of action and sports figures. A slap shot passes by the goalie bringing focus to the center of the dynamic composition while a swimmer and football players fill in the space above the goalie.

The pole vaulter, golfer, basketball players and tennis player are all females as per the client’s request. It’s a Title 9 approved mural!

The room itself is quasi-industrial and the colors were kept minimal with a few metallic and Interference colors. The interference colors are very subtle over light colors and only show in certain light, so it is always changing. This color change enhances the motion and energy of the subject matter.
