U9 Bar and Lounge Goes Geometric

In this soon-to-be-opened bar and lounge, I designed and painted a series of Neo Geo ceiling murals, a stairway mural, copper walls, bathroom wall. and a copper-leafed stairway ceiling.

The ceilings are painted as cubes and rectangular structures in one-point perspective. When standing at the vanishing point, the cubes become dimensional - when viewed from another vantage point, they become distorted.

Copper is the theme color with the accent colors of silver, bronze and gold. The geometric theme is inspired by the special light fixtures made of four juxtaposed rectangles. The light fixture was painted on the stairway wall over a cube pattern (A Tessellation Pattern). It glows in the black light of the stairway. Once in the bar, patrons will find the bar itself glows as it is illuminated quartz.
