Colorful Tuscan Wine Cellar
I especially enjoy painting wine cellars. In this large wine room, I was able to paint a full-sized illusionistic architectural piece. Three arches supported by short pillars in one point perspective define the foreground architecture. In contrast to this, a colorful Tuscan landscape extends to the horizon.
Foreground details such as the balustrade with two small pots of flowers, a tiled veranda and a small fountain with a statue bring the eye back to the foreground to enjoy the details.
Even the baseboard of the room is painted as a stone element and as a step into the illusion. Ivy painted around the balusters repeat the green of the landscape and help define the space of the foreground.
